Dragon fruit on saucer - SOLD

What a fantastic looking fruit! Very tropical and exotic looking to a Canadian in March : ) Lush and fun to paint. My first attempt was yesterday and it had to be wiped down. Today I settled down and approached it more calmly and got the result I was hoping for. Tonight we're going to eat it : ) I've never tried this fruit before - I'll report back tomorrow.
6" x 6" / oil on panel / $75

Well done , it rests nicely on that dessert plate.

You'll have to tell us if it tastes as good as it looks.
What is the outer texture like? And more importantly, texture and flavor of the inner, but that'll have to wait until tonight.

I've never tried it either, but it looks intriguing. Those cool blues against the reds work really well!

I've seen dragon fruit in the grocery store, but have never tried it. Looking forward to your comments on it!

This is great, very lively color work.
I don't know this fruit. I'll look forward to hearing what it tastes like. (Though I'm assuming it was imported from someplace more tropical than Canada, and may have suffered in transport.)

Hi, Kim. This is beautiful. The muted colors of the dragon fruit against the more iridescent blue look great together. And the modeling of the plate are terrific.

I also really enjoyed your canyon pieces. Great job.

I did a dragon fruit several months ago. The inside of the fruit is as interesting as the outside! You did a great job on it and that killer plate! How did you get the perfect shape on that plate???

Exotic indeed! Love your colors and the quick look. The dappled places around the stem and on the plate are my favorite parts. Hope it tastes as delicious as it looks!
