Red Christmas ball

These remind me of old-fashioned trees, back when the ornaments were glass.

Kim
I was very embarrassed to work "free" and I'm trying to get back to normal and update me with friends ... excuse the absence!

ahhh ... know that you reminded me of these Christmas balls, glass wafer-thin ...
were so careful to assemble the tree, and beyond the balls were also other formats, cones, hearts, flowers ...

beautiful painting!
by the beautiful simplicity!
hugs and kisses! ;)))

Thanks for moving me slowly toward the season of St. Nick. He is areligious icon to me.

And these little teasers of the past week are making me feel religious.

Each is so loaded with memories. These fragile ornaments, and in years gone by in our household they were really not replaceable, (the cost). that fragile hanger had to be place to insure that it would not slip with the resultant shattering of the very thin ornament.

Well done. I can visualize the reflection of the pointy light bulb of the forties shimmering a magical reflection.

Love it.

It does seem to come quicker ever year doesn't it? A shop in our town put its decorations and tree up mid-november! Now the Christmas adverts are creeping in too... Soon all things bloggy will also be merry :0)
I don't know how you do it. I want to paint like this! Mine are all so lifeless in comparison!

Kim I love it. :) Love how you've got that top gold part so reflective and shiny. I bet this was a fun one. :)

I love the old glass ornaments. I love the color green you choose for this painting. This photograph brings back so many memories of hanging Christmas decorations with my family.
