Step 2 - Work in progress

Blocking in shadows and painting highlights in tree bark. So torn regarding how much to paint over the existing canvas. I really like a lot of what is happening regarding show-through yet I've got to develop it! I guess as long as I am able to hang on to the variety and contrasts... It's odd but I really enjoy paintings that are half-done. Can anyone relate?

This is really looking good, Kim. I do know what you mean about half-done paintings. I think I like them because they are still full of possibility at that point! Have a great week-end.

Absolutely, leave some of the painting to the viewers imagination.

I can relate. I love paintings that are half done too. Love this one, and all of your fine work.

I always love that some of your toned canvas shows through your paintings - It gives your paintings such depth and another dimension! :0)

So beautiful!! And yes I can so relate to being attracted to unfinished work, though I hardly ever have the guts to leave my own that way. ;)
