Catch-up

Just to catch you up on a few things... yesterday I got word from Canvas Gallery that they had sold my painting Shenanigans! : )
Then today my day began like this:
The container of gesso slipped out of my hand, toppled over and spilled centimeters from my support. A lot of it.
But it ended on a high note - I made a lot of progress on my painting today. Maybe it will be finished tomorrow and I can share it with you.
And lastly, I wanted to share this link because I can't get enough of watching Theo Jansen's Strandbeests! If you don't want to watch the entire 4.5 minutes, pop in at 25, 29 seconds and 1:40. Fascinating what people can create. These boggle my mind. Have a good weekend!

Happy Days

Ebb and Flow, 40x48, available at Canvas Gallery
So yesterday was a pretty great day for me: I put a big checkmark beside a longtime goal. I am super-pleased to announce that I am now being represented at Canvas Gallery in Toronto. In the morning when I was loading my paintings into the truck I actually got a little teary. Yep. Just for a moment : ) Megan and Mark own a fantastic space on Dupont & Ossington that will blow you away. I could have browsed for hours. I'm kicking myself that I didn't take any pictures. Please check out their gallery, you'll be happy you made the trip. So, now off to the studio to do battle with the piece I'm working on. And then tonight it's champagne and Haagen Dazs for me!

Work in progress, details

I've been running in a few directions but have been in the studio more than my blog would indicate ; ) I have been working on my next abstract and as usual it has taken a million turns. I think I'm closing in on it now... so here are two details. Hopefully it'll be ready soon to share!
